Salaria’s Cold Calling Expertise

In the competitive landscape of sales and marketing, cold calling remains a critical strategy, and no one does it better than Salaria. But what is the secret behind their success? We delve deeper into the strategies and principles that have set us apart among cold-calling companies.

Rigorous Recruitment Process

Salaria’s recruitment process is nothing short of meticulous. Accepting only 5-10% of all applicants, a standard even higher than some Ivy League schools, we are sure to onboard individuals who are not just skilled but are the best fit for the role. The recruitment process involves:

  • Personability Tests: To ensure that the candidates are personable and can build rapport with potential clients.
  • Language Proficiency: A strong understanding of the English language and business vernacular is a must.
  • Mock Calls: Candidates undergo numerous mock calls to assess their readiness and ability to think on their feet.

Comprehensive Initial Training

Once recruited, the employees undergo expert training under designated cold-call trainers. The training equips them with the necessary resources and procedures to excel in their roles. But Salaria also believes in the practical experience of “throwing them into the fire” to truly gauge their capabilities. That means that we can quickly identify who the top performers will be and invest in them with ongoing training to make them as good as they can be.

Extensive Ongoing Training

Salaria’s ongoing training is where the magic happens. The team constantly analyzes live calls and recordings to understand market reactions and fine-tune their strategies. This involves meticulous script alterations, sometimes changing a single word to skyrocket conversion rates. The goal is to make every second of the call count, optimizing scripts to fit within the one-to-three-minute window that is crucial in cold calling lead generation.

Incentive Structure

Salaria stands out with its well-thought-out incentive structure, steering clear of vanity statistics and incentives that encourage more unsavory tactics. The incentives are designed to encourage genuine and fruitful conversations rather than just booking meetings through aggressive tactics.

Realistic Approach

Understanding the realities of cold calling leads is Salaria’s forte. We are adept at crafting concise yet effective scripts that fit the time constraints of an average cold call. The focus is not just on efficiency but also on ensuring that the lead fully comprehends the purpose and the intentions behind the meeting, avoiding any meaningless engagements.

Salaria has mastered the art of cold calling through a combination of rigorous recruitment, comprehensive training, and a realistic approach to the dynamics of cold calling and appointment setting. Our strategies are rooted in understanding the nuances of human interaction and leveraging them to create meaningful connections in a short span of time.

By fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, coupled with a fair incentive structure, Salaria ensures that our team is not just well-prepared but also motivated to excel in our roles. It is this meticulous approach that has cemented Salaria’s position as a leader in cold-calling strategies, setting a benchmark for others in the industry to aspire to.

The Top Mistake Most Small Sales Teams Make

Your company might be ruining its own sales funnel. Plenty of companies are. That’s because they have their account executives (AEs) do everything from lead generation to deal signing.

The common belief is that AEs know best and having them handle everything will build a firmer relationship with prospects right from the start. But is this sales team strategy really the most effective? Here are some small business sales tips to help you out.

The Downside of Doing Everything

Having AEs handle everything can lead to a significant opportunity cost that is hard to quantify. Many companies do not consider this or are unwilling to take what they perceive as a gamble on sales improvement by investing in a specialized lead generation team. Unfortunately, they think having a specialized team will be more costly—one of the most common sales outsourcing misconceptions.

This approach essentially creates an “excuse engine” out of a sales rep. Sales reps often find themselves saying, “I can’t do everything—I’m not getting enough leads, or I don’t have time to work these deals.” And they are right. AEs end up spending 30% to 40% of their time doing lead generation, which leaves less time for closing deals.

So they end up wasting their time on less valuable tasks while leaders try to find sales optimization tips. But those might even be the tasks they’re worse at—after all, not everyone is good at everything. Some people are great at creating opportunities, while others are incredible at closing deals.

By not specializing, you weigh down your top performers with other burdens, which is not efficient. Only 20% of salespeople drive most companies’ revenue, and even fewer can do other jobs like lead generation at the same time. Additionally, without divisions in the sales process, it is impossible to identify problems and fix them. This lack of monitoring can lead to inefficiencies and lost opportunities.

The Importance of Specialization

Specialization is key to proper sales team management. By figuring out who is good at what and assigning roles accordingly, you can remove the possibility for excuses and determine whether your AEs are closers or not. This approach also allows you to monitor performance at all stages of the sales funnel and identify and fix problems as they arise.

Many firms claim that their sales reps handle the full sales cycle, including sales prospecting, lead generation, follow-ups, appointment setting, nurturing, inbound calls, and contract negotiations. However, this approach burdens the sales reps with unnecessary work.

On the other hand, firms like Salaria offer handoffs without handholding. While SDRs (Sales Development Representatives) are expensive because you need to train them, Salaria’s professionals are all ready to go, saving your sales reps time.

While it may seem cost-effective to have AEs handle everything, this approach has several downsides, including the opportunity cost, inefficiencies, and the burden it places on your top performers. Specialization is key to optimizing the sales process and driving revenue.

Outsourcing to quality lead generation and sales prospecting services like Salaria can be a more efficient way to generate leads without burdening your sales reps with unnecessary work. Remember, no handholding, no tools, no excuses—just 30 minutes of your time per week. A good firm is the most efficient way to generate leads. So, take a step back, assess your sales process, and make the necessary changes to optimize it for success.

Interested in saving yourself some money, accelerating your revenue growth, and letting your AEs focus on what they do best? Reach out to Salaria to have a conversation today.

Benefits of Hiring an International Sales Team

4e666b44e3ca861156378a319bf05383.jpg

As CEO and founder of Salaria, I get asked a lot about the key traits that help us stand out. Key among them is our extraordinary, international team of sales professionals. I used to think a company couldn’t succeed with so many offshore workers, but as many of our customers find, they do truly remarkable work.

How I learned to value international talent

Early on in my career, I worked at a startup where I managed a team of developers based in India. That was my first step to understanding the wealth of talent all over the world: those developers communicated clearly, did accurate, high-quality work at a startlingly fast pace, and were more in-touch with US business culture than some people who grow up here.

I learned that an increasingly globalized business culture and the cultural mixer of social media mean that around the world, there are workforces intimately familiar with the best practices and communications norms of US companies. As I progressed in my career, I continued to find better and better teams across different business functions.

I wish I could say that’s only because I’ve improved at identifying the best workers, but the fact is there’s more great talent in places like India and the Philippines than ever before.

Why Salaria has a global team

Just as talent rises abroad, Salaria’s team has only gotten more global over the years. At first, team members not located in the US didn’t make cold calls. That’s because I thought that it just wouldn’t work to have someone call in from another country.

But I was wrong. Salaria tested the idea and we were blown away with the results. Our cold callers work harder than I did when I was a salesperson, and I’ll never go back to relying solely on domestic talent.

Since we started using cold callers based abroad, our customers have been more than satisfied with the outcomes of their work. We’ve been able to pick the most talented professionals from a much wider pool, and compensate them above what other white-collar jobs pay where they’re located to encourage high performance and low turnover.

Do outsourced cold callers have accents?

One of the most common questions I get asked about Salaria’s international cold callers is whether they have accents. The short answer is yes. The long answer is yes, but why would it matter? The results they get don’t lie, and their obvious English fluency and excellent sales skills are what impact their performance, not the accent they have.

A person’s accent doesn’t tell you about the legitimacy of the product they’re selling, their competency as a worker, or whether you want to set a meeting with the company they’re representing.

It doesn’t even tell you where they are! Based on the way they talk, our international team could be sitting in Boston, Bratislava, or Bangkok. There are people from all over the world in every major city, and the people receiving our calls don’t seem to care much about where they’re sitting. You can judge for yourself with the recordings below!

Top Misconceptions About Sales Outsourcing

topmisconceptionsaboutsalesoutsourcing.jpg

Sales outsourcing is a powerful tool that can fundamentally change your revenue generation engine. But many organizations miss out on its opportunities because they believe the misconceptions around outsourcing.

Sales outsourcing is more popular than ever. That’s because mo

re and more businesses are seeing the true value in this increasingly popular practice. Despite this, some people haven’t picked up on why this sudden change is taking place, and still believe some things that might’ve been true at one point, but aren’t any longer.

Here are some of the most common myths that people still believe about sales outsourcing:

Our Product Is Too Complicated

No matter what you’re selling, there’s a pitch. That’s why the complexity of a product doesn’t prevent professionals from selling it well. In fact, outsourced sellers are exceptionally experienced at quickly understanding technical products enough that they can communicate about them effectively.

That’s because outsourced lead generation professionals don’t discuss your product in detail. Your account executives should, but the cold callers are just trying to set meetings for them with brief conversations.

We’ll Lose Our Account Executive Sourcing

Many companies rely on a group of young, in-house salespeople to create their next generation of account executives. But the truth is that sales rep turnover is 35% per year. That means that there’s actually very little continuity between generations of salespeople.

More than that, having low-level reps doesn’t mean that you can’t outsource some of their work. In fact, it can be helpful–by outsourcing repetitive tasks, you can let your employees focus on more important tasks.

I’ll Lose Control of the Sales Process

The main benefit of outsourcing is that you get the luxury of being more hands-off. That’s because a quality outsourcing business should be your partner, looking out for your interests and making strategic sales decisions with your consultation.

More than that, a good partner should be transparent with their plans and open to bilateral communication. That means you remain an active and informed decision-maker, but you have even more tools at your disposal. If you want to make a change, simply give your partner the feedback, and they’ll execute on it.

Outsourcing Costs Too Much

This myth is probably the easiest one to disprove. Your outsourcing partner should be constantly proving your return on your investment in them. With constant communication, you can see just how quickly you make your money back.

That’s why it makes perfect sense to outsource sales in a recession. By outsourcing, you skip costs around payroll management, technology, benefits, recruitment, training, and exit risks. Instead, you’re paying an experienced team that’s eager to prove its worth to you.

If you’re looking at outsourcing companies, feel free to talk to Salaria about the services we offer as well!

How Salaria’s Competitor’s Prospect, and Why It Matters

d13ed9c4b35c6a7fb66b68ad1e1a02d7.jpg

Salaria isn’t the only company that you can outsource your prospecting to, but none of our major competitors do it the same way as us. Let’s talk about what they do, and why.

What Is Prospecting?

Prospecting is the process of identifying potential customers. It’s the foundation of the sales process, which is why you need to make sure you’re prospecting correctly before you can feel confident about the rest of your pipeline.

Good prospecting should set your salespeople up with meetings with people who fit their ideal customer profile (ICP). Unfortunately, too much poor prospecting means that many salespeople waste their time on meetings with non-ICP prospects,

How Other Firms Prospect

If you search right now, you can find a dozen firms that will promise to give you enough great meetings to fill your calendar, and they’ll do it right away. It’s hard to evaluate which are worth taking seriously, so you should know how many of these firms do their prospecting.

Automated prospecting tools are very popular and only growing in their use. These tools will give prospecting outsourcing companies access to a huge phonebook with millions of peoples’ contact information and job titles. They’re very useful, depending on how you use them.

Sadly, many of these sales outsourcing firms rely on those tools too heavily. They just copy and paste the email addresses of all the people with a likely job title, and automatically send them all the same email, hoping a few will bite.

The problem with this approach is that those prospecting firms are working with imperfect data. Without perfectly clean data, they end up targeting the wrong people, and often, that’s who they set meetings with.

How Salaria Prospects

Salaria was founded on the idea that better prospecting is worth it. By making sure you target the right people, you end up with more quality meetings without sacrificing volume. We do that in two steps: by working with our clients to identify a precise ICP, and then by pursuing that ICP specifically.

First, we talk with our clients to make sure we know exactly who they want conversations with. For example, it’s not enough for us to just know you want to speak to someone with the title “Director of Operations” to sell a logistics tool. Instead, we’ll go after more tailored data like how much they’re currently producing and projecting that they will produce in the future.

Then, we reach out to companies that fit that customized profile. That means we don’t waste time going after bad leads and you don’t waste time meeting with them. With just a little extra effort on our part, we make everyone’s lives easier.

If you’re interested in learning more about what makes Salaria’s prospecting different, feel free to reach out to us here.

5 Reasons Not to Over-Automate Your Sales and Lead Generation

Lead generation and sales automation is incredibly appealing for obvious reasons. It could save you significant cash if you do it right, but that kind of short-term cost-cutting can also get you in trouble. Here are the five biggest pitfalls you can run into when automating your sales and lead gen efforts.

1. Anti-automation Social Media Policies

Overuse of Linkedin automation is one of the top reasons people are kicked off of the platform. If you’re automating your LinkedIn use to send mass amounts of messages and requests, you’re at risk of a ban for misusing the platform. If you aren’t using the platform at that scale, the automation software is likely not worthwhile in the first place. In either case, it’s difficult to use social media with lead generation automation while keeping your accounts in good standing.

2. Prospecting Inaccuracies

Over-automation is one of the most common prospecting mistakes out there. Prospecting is only as valuable as the information you prospect. Inaccurate contact information targeting the wrong people won’t serve you well, and automated prospecting tools are rife with errors. If you want lower error rates, you’ll need to verify your prospecting data with a human touch, which negates many of the benefits of automation in the first place.

3. IT Issues

When you buy into tools that advertise themselves as cutting-edge, you’re paying to beta test someone else’s product. No matter how they advertise, technology companies are always looking to cut costs on customer service, and you’re introducing more potential break points into your workflow. IT issues are sadly common with sales and lead gen software, and they can be seriously costly for your business.

4. Lack of Skill Development

Many companies still like to source their sales executives from their SDR pool because they believe their SDRs develop important sales skills while working those junior-level positions. But then they equip those SDRs that tools that make developing those skills unnecessary at their level. Identifying good leads and writing personalized emails is important for executives and automation software undercuts the skill development of junior employees who might become executives later on.

5. Lose Focus on Cold Calling

Automation software can also make a sales team focus too much on what they can automate. They put all their attention into casting as wide a net as possible with emails and social media messages. As a result, they neglect one of the cornerstones of the modern sales playbook: cold calling. Despite what you may have heard, cold calling isn’t dead. But focusing on tactics you can automate means you neglect one of your most important sales tools.

Instead of automating certain sales and lead generation tasks, many sales teams choose to outsource them to professionals who will use a personal touch. If you’re interested in exploring the advantages of sales and lead generation outsourcing, reach out to Salaria today.
